This residential development is located in a rapidly regenerating part of South London, where landscape architecture plays a vital role in increasing biodiversity, providing visual and acoustic buffers, and encouraging community interaction. Privacy and permeability were balanced using green screens and climbing plants on trellises, ensuring residents have a buffer from adjacent properties without losing openness or daylight.

Sustainability and SuDS

Water management was a core component of this scheme. We integrated sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) through:

Permeable paving that reduces surface water runoff.
Rain gardens and planted swales to filter and slow water.
Subsurface attenuation crates are placed beneath soft landscaping areas.
