DESCRIPTION
The new design layout is structured on two main routes into the playground. One new entrance at the south boundary that weave through the playground and cleverly segment the playground into different areas. This format enables the space to be utilized in an improved capacity than present and demonstrates how an optimized layout can provide a richer and more diverse environment for the children. The plan shows a selection of play equipment that has been provisionally selected by the playground committee. This is liable to change and update during the design process and consultations.
At the heart of the playground is a natural play area that provides a different and positive alternative from the fixed play equipment. The playground is surrounded with a selection of new tree’s and shrubs that help : soften and enhance the boundaries, create a greater sense of enclosure for users within, create a new and dynamic landscaped space to the natural park environment. The landscape design will be specified to be attractive, enhance the wildlife value of the park and be complimentary to the setting. Any new street furniture e.g benches, cycle racks and picnic tables will be modern and robust.
