The owner of this property in Hampstead, North London were extending there property and wanted to have a garden to compliment the new modern interior. They wanted to integrate the existing mature tree’s and walled garden with contemporary materials, planting and lawn. Studio Concept as Landscape and Garden Design created a split level terrace area with integrated water feature, built in -really comfortable seating that acts as a dining area.
The upper garden area has gravel a raised lawn that is defined with dark stained timber sleepers and a gravel path leads past large modern planters with specimen plants and clipped hedges. The rear patio is a raised timber deck platform that has a modern pergola structure over that provides a focal point from the lower terrace and interior. Planting include buxus (box) and Yew hedges and prunus lusitanica. Mediterranean plants such as lavender, Acanthus spinosus and Artemisia alongside a mixed shrub border with perennials, bulbs and climbers.
